Three firms reap £150m housing deal

Housing association Thirteen Group has appointed three contractors to a £150m construction framework.

The organisation, which owns and manages 35,000 homes in the North East and Yorkshire, named the trio to deliver its Enhanced Capital Delivery Programme.

Equans Regeneration, Esh Construction and Re:Gen Group will deliver construction and management services through the framework for the next four years.

Thirteen said most of its investment through the programme would deliver planned maintenance and building-safety projects.

Five firms had been shortlisted for the work, including one SME.

Equans and Esh both feature on a £500m decarbonisation retrofit framework awarded by procurement consultancy Prosper this summer.

Re:Gen Group chief executive Lee Francis was recently named as the chair of the Constructing Excellence in the North East Climate Emergency Group, pledging to “drive forward sustainability by knowledge-sharing and best practice”.

Thirteen Group this month joined the West Yorkshire Housing Partnership, a consortium of housing associations and councils that works with other regional authorities to support the devolution deal agreed by the government in 2020.
