Atlanta rapper JID stepped back onto the scene this year by dropping his album The Forever Story and has revealed that his career almost took a different path.

While being interviewed on The Breakfast Club, the Dreamville rapper co-host Angela Yee asked if any other label attempted to sign him before J. Cole’s Dreamville label did in 2017. He mentioned Quality Control but proceeded to tell the show a short story.

“We(him and Atlanta rap duo Earthgang) got offered a deal from Rich Homie Quan,” JID said.

Even though Rich Homie Quan is an Atlanta-based rapper like JID and Earthgang, both sides still turned down the deal.

After Co-host Charlamagne Tha God jokingly said the deal would have been a “come-up” for the “151 Rum” artist, he responded, “the deal was disgusting,” and referred to his song “Crack Sandwich,” implying he would still be broke after the deal.

Rapper and TV mogul 50 Cent was on The Breakfast Club and was asked why he decided not to sign J.Cole before his rise in the rap game.
