- Anna Sorokin has announced the Reinventing Anna NFT collection
- The collection will give ‘fans’ a chance to interact with here, receive items from her and more
- The launch comes when the NFT market is on its knees and amid constant accusations that it’s nothing but a scam
It was almost like it was meant to be. At the end of a cycle where NFT supporters have been doing all they can to defend the new asset class from accusations that the space is nothing but the latest crypto Ponzi scheme, world famous fraudster Anna Sorokin has blown their arguments out of the water with her own NFT collection. Sorokin, a.k.a. Anna Delvey, is currently in a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility while she fights deportation to Germany, and to pass the time (and to try and scrape some money together), the fake heiress has announced Reinventing Anna, which she says includes access to “exclusive world of Anna Delvey”.
Sorokin Launches NFT Grift From Deportation Centre
Sorokin was released from prison in February 2021 after serving three years of her 4-to-12-year sentence for fraud, and now faces deportation back to her home country. Despite being in detention she has managed to continue her extraordinary grift by launching Reinventing Anna, an NFT collection that takes the form of ‘Anna Cards’ which supposedly unlock exclusive livestreams, phone calls, items from Anna, or in-person meetings, depending on the tier purchased.
2,000 NFTs have been produced and are already on sale, with each one costing 0.08 ETH + gas, with a limit of 20 per person (honestly, who on Earth would want 20 of these anyway?). This will net Anna 160 ETH, equivalent to about $176,000 at the time of writing, which is a pretty nice pay day when all she has to do is tell the same story over and over again to some weirdos.
Fitting End to NFT Season
In an interview with the Today show, Sorokin said that people should by her scam rubbish access NFTs because she has “changed so much” and that Reinventing Anna involves focusing her energies into “something legal”.
Socialite Anna Sorokin, a.k.a. Anna Delvey, is currently in an ICE detention facility while she fights being deported. Anna spoke one-on-one with @WatchSavannah in a rare interview and one thing’s for sure – Anna wants you to believe she’s reinventing herself. pic.twitter.com/uknNKTOL4A

NFTs may be legal, but this Reinventing Anna nonsense shows that, ironically, she hasn’t changed at all. The release, right when the NFT market is collapsing, could not be more poetic, and the entire enterprise caps the first chapter of a market that, from the outset, has been plagued by accusations of scams and useless digital novelties.
It is therefore fitting that the ultimate scammer chooses this moment to put the seal on season one of the NFT space in the most spectacular way.
Thank you NFTs, and goodnight.
