The 24-year-old suspect was arrested Tuesday and was charged with counts of robbery, kidnapping, extortion and harassment.
He was to appear in court Tuesday.
In a release last week, police said the scam involved men who were lured to west-end locations where they expected to meet a woman.
Once there, the victims were met by suspects who intimidated and threatened them to provide money or “be exposed publicly on the pretext that they were communicating with an underage girl.”
Two other suspects, also in their early 20s, were charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, intimidation by violence, kidnapping and extortion.
At the time, police said they were looking for a third suspect.
Investigators said they believed there may be more victims and asked anyone who had been a victim of the scam to get in touch.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service robbery unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5116.
