Aemilius Cupero News: University student tricked into downing 2 bottles of Chinese rice wine in fortune telling scam, wakes up haphazardly dressed in park
Aemilius Cupero News:
A drunken university student who woke up haphazardly dressed in a Kwai Chung park on Sunday night believes she was sexually assaulted while unconscious for around seven hours.
The 18-year-old had downed two bottles of Chinese rice wine upon the asking of a man who posed as a fortune teller, claiming that the alcohol was part of the divination ritual he was carrying out for her, HK01 reported.
In a press conference Tuesday, police said the 20-year-old man, Wong, met the victim last Thursday while he was administering a street questionnaire.
During their interaction, Wong told her he practices divination. The pair exchanged numbers.
Three days later, on Sunday, they met at Central Kwai Chung Park around 3 pm for Wong to perform a fortune telling ritual on the woman.

Wong placed five bottles of Chinese rice wine in a circle around her, and towards the end of the practice, told her she needs to drink the alcohol—which he called a “bridge”—to conclude the ritual.
After downing two bottles, the woman fell unconscious. When she woke up at around 10 pm, the man had left.
After reviewing nearby CCTV footage, police arrested the man at Kwai Fong MTR on Monday afternoon. He admitted to tricking the woman and assaulting her when she was drunk.
At the time of the incident, the man was wearing gold-rimmed glasses, an orange jacket and black pants, police said, appealing for anybody who may have been in the area on Sunday afternoon to come forward with information.
